"One of the most challenging phases of an adolescent's life is the middle school phase, for the adolescent and the parent. I was once told that we are all born with unique toolboxes; and that sometimes additional tools must be added to help us navigate through certain experiences, and/or phase of our lives. Middle school is definitely one of those phases that my daughter and I needed additional tools to help both of us navigate through the challenges that she has experienced. When I reached out to a friend about needing support, he recommended Pope Counseling. As much as our daughter objected to counseling, I knew that there were things that she was being exposed to that I didn't have the "tools" to help guide her, nor was I faced with the same issues when I was her age, so I felt that I was providing limited support. Our initial consultation with Janiece was very helpful; it gave us an opportunity to voice our concerns, and an opportunity to gauge whether or not Janiece would be a good fit for our daughter. Many months later, our daughter is still seeing Janiece, and is still working on the "tools" that Janiece has provided her. I have seen a change in our daughter since the initial consultation, too! The anger, the hurt, and the unwillingness to share with Janiece has changed to now being given opportunities to share so that Janiece can continue to provide her with a variety of strategies to help guide her through challenging times regarding school pressures, classmates, and friends. Not only is Janiece an amazing resource for our daughter, she has provided strategies for me so that I can work on being a better listener, and communicator. Janiece's expertise in working with adolescents has helped us tremendously! She has been the perfect fit for our daughter. Many families might be apprehensive about counseling because of the thought of feeling judged, however, counseling has provided us a healthy way of sharing our concerns with a valuable person that guides us through times when we have tried to give one another support, but need someone to keep us on track. I highly recommend Pope Counseling to families! We appreciate the support that Janiece is providing for our daughter."

"I have been seeing Lindsey for almost 3 years. I was in a horrible accident and I had to talk to someone. Southlake Psychiatry, who I have been seeing for years for my meds, suggested Lindsey-Pope Counseling. After the accident I have EXTREME anxiety, depression, PTSD, anxiety attacks and much more. I had seen prob 5-6 therapists in my life. Never have I been able to tell them the TRUTH about my mental health. I booked with Lindsey, and it’s been 3 years. That says a lot for me. For me, Lindsey has a way to let me talk about all my anxiety, especially my PTSD, without the “eyebrow “ raise. That’s huge!! She is helping me move forward when I would of never left the house after the accident.

Lindsey not only is helpful to me but to my HIGH SCHOOL SON. He finally told me, as a senior, he has panic attacks and anxiety. He’s had it since 8th grade. So I monitored him for a few months until my words became “Mom” words. I asked him if he would like to see Lindsey and he said yes. He looked so relieved that he was going to talk to her. After his first visit I saw a smile. I’m sure he needed to talk to someone and I’m glad that was Lindsey. Obviously, I have no idea what they talk about, and I don’t want to know! I just want to see that smile back on my son! . I’m so glad that she was there for him. He’ll start college in the fall. He’ll be ready with Lindsey. Soo Lindsey Pope -Pope Counseling-has completely help get my family back-to-being a close knit family again"

"I can’t say enough quality things about Lindsey.  She has worked with me in recent years and has been a true professional.  She has been personable, easy to talk with, comforting, non-judgmental and someone who has been a critical aspect of me getting life back on track.  She offers real advice in a real way.  I would highly recommend her."

"What to say about Becky? That's a tough question to answer. Plain and simple she's changed my life for the better. The way I look at my problems. The way I think. I owe so much to her. She is a tough cookie with a mushy interior who knows how to cut through the BS. She constantly blows my mind with her bold and insightful perspective on life. The Guest House (you have to get her talking about that- it's revolutionary stuff).  Becky was the first therapist I ever selected myself and honestly I'm so lucky to have found her. Even though I am away at university I still plan on seeing her periodically. That's how good she is. I feel like words won't do me justice but here they are."

"I am so glad I found Becky. I’ve worked with a lot of therapists over the years and never saw a major change until now. When I started doing DBT with Becky I was in a bad place and I can truly say that I would not be successfully dealing with major life changes now without her help. I appreciate that she can be funny and empathetic but still honest and challenging. She has really helped me grow as a person and learn what I’m capable of."

"There are few people who touch our lives at certain points on our life’s journey when we have lost our way. We are forever changed and forever grateful for having met them and for the growth they have helped us to achieve. Becky is one such person in my life – an answer to my prayers. Becky was recommended during a time of deep personal crisis and turmoil. She has the unique ability to see through my “shenanigans” and call me out on my true feelings. Something that countless therapists have not been able to accomplish.

I knew I needed to chart a new path in my life’s journey, but I did not know how to do that. I did not have the emotional arsenal, nor did I understand my patterns and the process of how to change my responses to my circumstances. Becky helped me develop an arsenal through Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT) to deal with the joys, the sorrows, relationships and everyday challenges that one faces in life. In the more than a year that I have worked with Becky, I have come to value and appreciate her expertise, insight, empathy and true dedication to the mental health profession.

Becky has been extremely valuable in helping me identify and build on my strengths. With her support, I have also learned how to target areas to work on allowing for more personal growth. I recommend Becky without reservation, as she has been a true blessing in my life, helping me to maintain my emotional balance by providing me the right tools and compassionate support."

"Our daughter started seeing Bess in the fall of 2014 in an effort to help her deal with anxiety, bullying at school, and attachment issues with me. We had seen different counselors since our daughter was 4 years old so she wasn’t excited when I told her we were going to see Bess the first time. However, it didn’t take long for our daughter to connect with Bess and now looks forward to seeing her each visit.

While seeing Bess, our daughter has made amazing strides in all areas, but especially with her anxiety. It shows by the smile on her face (which disappeared before we started seeing Bess); her increased self-confidence; and her ability to handle stressful middle school situations.

Bess also relates well with us as parents. She has helped us understand how to better deal with our daughter on a daily basis and it has dramatically improved our relationship with her. She is extremely knowledgeable in dealing with children with emotional issues and we would highly recommend her to anyone who has a child going thru those rough middle school years. She has been a blessing to our entire family."

"Bess Ceresa has been integral to my continued recovery from addiction/alcoholism and depression. Her insight, empathy, and encouragement continues to make a significant impact on my life. She has helped me develop skills and strength over coping mechanisms; opened my heart, mind, and eyes to realities outside of my own. I feel invested in, cared for, challenged, and respected during our sessions. I cannot speak enough on behalf of her character and professionalism. She doesn't just help me, she continually inspires and equips me to be better than I am, and to overcome my battles. "

"I started working with Lindsey Pope at Pope Counseling Center at one of the hardest times in my life. Having just left an 18 year marriage to an addict, I was struggling with guilt, letting go, and accepting that it was okay to put myself and my happiness first.  Lindsey helped me learn skills to manage these feelings and others. I am now more confident, happy and self-aware thanks to the tools Lindsey shared with me. After each session, I walk away with a new insight on how to handle a situation that comes my way. Thank you Lindsey for helping me learn more about myself and providing me with the techniques to better cope with challenges.  I highly recommend Pope Counseling to anyone in need of professional help."

"From my first meeting at Pope Counseling Center, I felt comfortable and welcome. Being new to the area, while dealing with many different challenging life circumstances, I knew I needed not only objective support, but also, true professional, knowledgeable and compassionate help. I have found that and more at Pope Counseling Center. Working with Lindsey Pope has given me great insight into myself and perspective on the problems I am facing from a place I believe, I would not have found without her help. I am learning new ways from which to deal with the people and circumstances of my life and feeling more empowered to not only cope with the ups and downs of life, but to thrive! Thank you Lindsey for all of the interesting tools you have used to help me - help myself. I would highly recommend Pope Counseling Center to friends, family and anyone who is in need of professional help."
